there are two ways to disable the alarm system, remote and ign key unless they poped your hood and diconected the bat and had the hood pin disconected, but i really think that someone has a transmitter to your car.
now to make shure that no one can do that again go in to your car and reprogram your remotes, this will forget all the previous codes and only see yours. its very easy, all you have to do is put the key in the ignition cycle it 3 times on off on off on the park lights will flash, hit any button on the first remote the lights will flsah then hit any button on the second remote. this has to be done in or under 15 seconds. once you do that the only transmitters that will work are yours have a great day !

alot of the compustars will still retain the other remote, my remote got programmed to my buddy's car, and still is, even with doing as you recommended.
only sure way, is to get a new "brain" and program your own remotes.
even that isn't secure, as it's so easy to program another remote at a shop without the owner knowing.
if you ever get work done at a shop, and have trust issuses, than remove the brain when you get your car seviced, and plug it back in , when you pick the car up.

that's why you don't leave your ins and reg papers in the car, or mail with your addy on it.
use your g/f name and phone # too... if you are paraniod...
if you don't trust someone, than why would you let them work on your car in the first place???

That sucks. You should get your money back for the alarm. It doesn't work worth a sh#t! How can someone take all that and not set off the alarm?

that sounds like the older versions of compustar .......... the way around that is to keep programming the remotes so instead of just doing it once keep doing it it will fill the prom with the same code and i believe you can store up 8 remotes on that system so just keep hitting the buttons like your programing 8 remotes at once !

have you read this post??? obviously someone had a transmitter and shut his alarm off... I knew from a 3rd party a shop employee was programming extra remotes, and getting your info of warrenty cards, that they had you fill out at the shop.

I recognized that this is a hard topic because the people that you hire to have your car protected or to fix it are the ones that have you targeted. This is a sad reality. Do what I did. I uninstalled all my equipment when I went to have my stuff installed. I left the wires out for the guy to see. He asked me when the installation was being done if I had my stuff ripped off. I made a sad face and said 'yeah'. He then asked if I had intentions of putting in another stereo. I told him that I wouldnt be putting one back in adn that the only reason the alarm was going into the car was because I now feared the car wouldnt be present upon returning to it.

I had a guy show me a pretty weird trick to getting around car alarms. I dont know if it's been corrected within the last couple years. He basically sent a large amount of electricity though the frame. The alarm that he did it on chirped very briefly and then shorted ... he open the door and my mouth dropped. It was that easy to disable the alarm system! This wasnt a cheap system either!
