I'm inquiring about what people think of wiring sub's. I currently have mine rewired in parrellel @ 1ohm stabill (my 600w JBL amp... bp-600.1) state's @ 1 ohm stabil minimum but the amp is running HOT and blows both 30 amp fuses after 5 minutes of pundage. What IS better, SERIES OR PARALLEL?

Niether is better then the other...just a way to wire you coils to better suit your amp.

I had that amp and ran it at 1 ohm all day long with no probs. Not sure what you problem is, especially with blowing the fuses...BAD!

Check you have a proper power supply, and a proper ground. That's all I can think of right now...

try ventilating the amp a little more...the cooler it runs the more efficient it is.

it should run at 1 ohm no problem...i had a few jbl 1200.1s a couple years ago that did 1 ohm all day no problem and wouldnt get overly warm.


as far as series/parallel wiring id do whatever gives you more power...in this case 1 ohm. at 4 ohm you'll get much much less output.

the way i had my junk setup last year i had a junction block for my speaker wires (1 sub that was dual 2 ohm) and would either run a jumper wire from a the positive on one coil to the negative on the other for 4 ohm operation or two jumper wires from + to + and - to - for 1 ohm operation.

i would get that amp checked out because it sounds like your power suppl might be shot, also what gauge wire are u running if its less than 4 gauge u might want to upgrade to that atleast

after 15 mins of pounding , your battery voltage is dropping way below where it should be...and the current is jumping like a mexican jumping bean...once the current goes up...poof....fusey no good....you let the smoke out.

i dont think it is your amp...if not it wouldnt play for 15 full throttle at all. it is your electrical...
