if ur too cheap to pay a maximum of 13% tax on your gear you really shouldnt be competing to begin with.
Im not competing, nor did i say a word about the goods and sales tax.
I meant not getting it up the ass for 15-20% at the border, between gst, duty and miscellaneous fees.

buy from the states and pay those, it becomes the same price as it costs here.... strange that, imposing import tarriffs that cause goods to become roughly the same price.

but as i said, if you manage to dodge the taxman, you can save a lot of money.

i go across to the US and pick up goods atleast twice a month. Dodging the tax man involves declaring the good at the border and paying the 13% tax (Im in BC) on them. Thats it. I also have to pay a $4 fee per box to my holding company in Washington or $20 for a pallet but thats it. They also have free use of a forklift.

having neither the time, nor the realistic driving distances to go across the border myself, i have to rely on having items shipped up.

im sure that if i lived close to the border, i would cross over myself to get things, if only for the trip and the scenery.
