You wanna know what you can do to help along any sort of shows? Pick what format you like, for example IASCA, and then start asking around and hyping the format to anyone you know interested in audio. Ask these people to commit to attending any shows that may develop, record their names and potential classes, and go into you local cool audio dealer and present him with the list. This shows some commitment from the customer base.
Most shops shy away from doing any kind of show because they are afraid that attendance will be poor and it takes work to organize. Do half their work by spreading the word and then show them that they will at least have marginal success and it becomes more attractive to the retailer. All it takes is 20 cars to have a semi decent show - of course more are better
Wandering into a shop and asking if they are gonna have any shows this year is going to be unproductive
I see ALL kinds of people on here that all sound so hardcore and excited but then they don't do **** about it. Want a show - make it happen! Show your dealer it WILL be worth their effort. Put in the time. Who knows, if you do a good enough job organizing stuff maybe you could get the reputation as a promoter and shops may PAY you to have this kind of fun
