Will this show be SQ or Spl or the best of both worlds?

spl for sure but if there is enough people i would love, i mean love to do a sq part, it wouldnt be iasca or anything like that no rules just the best sounding car period, what do you think of that idea(best sounding car period i mean) one experienced person would judge every car, i wish more people in this area were into sq type sound, if i could get minimum of 9-10 car i would do it in a second, and there will be no shortage of experienced ears here to do it, thanks for the reply's guys

I think if you do best sounding car, it will shy away alot of the people who don't really have the best sounding car, but still like to compete. You have to have some sort of classes or categories. You can't put a guy with deck + 4 against a full blown comp system.

I have a question for you though. What would you loose if you had it IASCA sanctioned? Especially with Andre's? They have 4 stores right? All you need is to buy one IASCA membership and you can do shows at all 4 of your locations. I guarentee this will bring at least the 10 cars you were looking for. You could make it a summer long series, with prizing at the end for the people who attend all the shows. With that alone, you will dominate the interior as far as shows go. Show people that your truley dedicated to the sport. I know Andre's here in Kamloops usually has a show of some sort during Hot Night in the City, which could easliy turn into a IASCA show.

I was down at Andre's here in Kamloops and it sounds like the Alpine Civic will be in Kelowna for the show on the 27th. That is one cool car.

You can definetly count on me being there if the show has an sq portion. And I would assume a few others from this bored as well. Its Kelowna, everyone should at least go for a weekend and make a little holiday out of it too!

As for the judging I think fat whacker is right, if you just leave it open to the best sounding car many will be scared off by this. If you want I can make a simple, fun yet effective score sheet for the show loosely based on IASCA rules incorporating both install and sq. This may attract people who want to break into the competitive scene but are scared to do there first show at a sanctioned event. I think this kind of format would also attract more seasoned competitors such as myself and others as well. Let me know if I can help, email me, mbenz@shaw.ca

I highly suggest IASCA or USACi for rules. And real sanctioned events bring guys like me out to the middle of nowhere for a good show. The average guy can compete in the street class and Ultra SQi and Pro are there for more advanced, more competitive guys. Also USACi has basic and advanced classes, a dealer membership from them isn't too much cash.

i have competed in iasca events many times in the past and have vowed never to support their format, its ridiculous. how would you guys recommend classes. i thought we could do it like a winner takes all, maybe 2 classes. professionals, aka anyone associated, employed, or sponsored in the industry, and the meat and potatoes type competitor, real consumers, and because good sound is so subjective, what sounds good to one wont be good for another, we will have one judge, judge every car with his own material, i want it to be fun, no bitching, pissing or moaning, one judges opinion of who sounds best, the judge will be picked based on his or her experience in car audio, particularily in the area of sq and not spl and iasca judging experience will be mandatory, if you guys have anyone in mind let me know, and yes there will be a best install, maybe we could get george to judge, just kidding, that guy kills me
